Starting a new career chapter can feel overwhelming, especially for women returning to work over 50. The job market has certainly changed, and so have the expectations around resumes, interviews, and networking
Delivered through local libraries and funded by a grant, this program provides live sessions with esteemed speakers to help you rebuild your career with clarity and strength. We are proud to be a community partner supporting this endeavor.

Robin Clare, Executive Director of the Senior Job Bank and our Founder exchanged notes when serving as panelists for "Future of Workforce Demographics" hosted by the University of Connecticut School of Business Graduate Career & Human Resource Management Leadership Conference. In preparing for that session, we realized there were common challenges to the unique talent pools of our respective organizations. The Seniors Job Bank connects people over 50 looking for full-time, part-time, and temporary work with businesses, municipalities, homeowners and other employers that have work to be done. Next Chapter Success addresses these challenges for both communities.
The series is geared for those facing a transition. Especially, if you are:
✅returning to work
✅pivoting to something new
✅downsizing or seeking more flexibility
These transitions can be driven by many factors. It can be following a gap due to caregiving like many in Untapped Potential's talent pool. Possibly you are downsizing your professional capacity due to retirement but still wanting to add value to society in a new, yet flexible way like those in seeking services from the Senior Job Bank. While the series is open to all audiences and marketed with the support of the hosting libraries, the material is targeted for those over 50 years old.
The program is created with you in mind. Whether you left the workforce to raise a family, care for loved ones, or recently retired and seeking more engagement, Next Chapter Success helps you translate your life experience into career assets.

Next Chapter Success is something new and Untapped Potential is excited to be a part of it!
During the Program's Welcome & Orientation you'll understand expectations and have an opportunity to share your personal goals for your next chapter of work. Program Leaders will introduce how today's labor market differs from past decades, including trends in hiring, flexibility, and skills-based recruitment. You'll learn that mature workers are in demand and how to align your experience with current employer needs.
Esteemed Coaches guide you through the critical topics necessary to prepare you for success in your next chapter.

RESUME COACHING
Session shares how to create resumes that emphasize results, transferable skills, and strengths developed over time. Learn to reposition experience for new roles or industries without minimizing their professional history.
INTERVIEW SKILLS
Participants will practice answering interview questions with confidence, clarity, and relevance to today’s workplace expectations. Introduces negotiation strategies for compensation, flexibility, and benefits that support work-life balance.
DIGITAL & PROFESSIONAL TOOLS
Session builds comfort with essential workplace technologies such as email, document sharing, video meetings, AI, and basic productivity tools. Participants also learn how to navigate online job boards and application systems with greater ease and confidence.
COMMUNICATION & NETWORKING
Participants will strengthen professional communication skills for both in-person and digital environments. The session focuses on building authentic connections, using LinkedIn effectively, and leveraging community relationships to uncover opportunities.
WORKPLACE READINESS
Session prepares participants to succeed once hired by addressing workplace expectations, team dynamics, and adapting to change. Strategies are shared for managing time, energy, and personal commitments while remaining engaged and effective at work.
FINANCIAL WELLNESS & GOAL SETTING
Participants explore how work fits into their broader financial picture, including budgeting, retirement considerations, and healthcare implications such as Medicare and taxes. The session emphasizes informed decision-making rather than one-size-fits-all solutions.
Each session is taught by an established professional whether they are a career coach, workforce development professional or financial advisor. Untapped Potential's team, coaches, mentors and alumni are facilitating many of the sessions.
Prior to the close of the program, participants reflect on what they’ve learned and identify clear next steps for their job search or career transition. Each attendee leaves with a personalized action plan and renewed confidence in their path forward.

Networking Opportunities
Building a professional network is key to finding job leads and support. Next Chapter Success connects you to industry participants the close of each week-long series at each library. Don't miss the opportunity to show off those communication and networking skills gleaned during that important session. The Networking Events take place at 4pm on the last day (Thursday) at each perspective library. Untapped Potential business clients and mentors are encouraged to attend.

One of the best parts of this program is its accessibility. Untapped Potential often enjoys supporting our Candidates where they are most comfortable - that is why we love our local libraries! The series is delivered in partnership with local libraries that are hosting the week-long series. Libraries provide a welcoming space where you can learn and grow when convenient for you. Choose by day, by week, or by location. You can even attend sessions from a new location.
To make it even more convenient, you can attend the session dates that meet your schedule. Whether you attend one session, one day or the full week-long series, you are bound to benefit! You can even select the session based on your speaker preference. If you can't stay for both sessions, or can only make it to the second session, simply let us know.
