Project Management is one of the fields we love to share with our Untapped Potential returners as it touches almost every industry, and benefits from strengths gained in parenting and working in the community.
Tonight we're excited to welcome one of Connecticut's Project Management Leaders, Dr. Tamara Smith. Dr. Smith is known for her deep expertise in managing major multimillion dollar state and local construction projects with complex funding and regulatory components. An Associate Vice President with award-winning AECOM, an infrastructure consulting firm, Tamara leads projects from planning through completion for clients including AMTRAK and the Connecticut Department of Transportation.
With a dissertation on the Status of Women in STEM Leadership Positions, and a leadership role in a male-dominated field, Tamara is passionate about supporting Women in STEM. She gives her time and talent to various professional organizations: Women's Transportation Seminar (WTS) CT Chapter, American Council of Engineering Companies of Connecticut (ACEC/CT), and Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO), CT Chapter.
We're excited to have her as part of Untapped Potential's community at our Mentor Mingle tonight. If you have an interest in project management or navigating STEM fields, be sure to chat with her during the networking portion.
