Establish and drive strategic initiatives and innovation to build the new organization’s precision medicine capabilities.
Designed the Maine Cancer Genomics Initiative (MCGI), constructing a proposal that earned an $8.4MM grant to build a state-wide precision oncology alliance involving ~90% of oncologists in Maine.
The MCGI expanded patient access (>1,000 patients have received genomic tumor testing); created multi-institution molecular tumor boards; and developed clinical education modules to build physician expertise and collaboration.
Developed proposal for statewide microbiome research marketing effort that earned ~$1.5MM in state venture funding to create the Connecticut Microbiome Initiative (CMI).
Designed, recruited, drove registration and managed logistics for the 2018 Microbiome Innovation & Investment Summit, a conference that attracted >100 people from over 60 organizations interested in microbiome research, scientific collaborations, and new company formation in this arena.
Established and led the Clinical Studies Task Force, an internal multi-disciplinary team responsible for designing and implementing precision medicine clinical studies.
