What a day at the Capitol! 🙌 Women-Owned Business Day (#WOBD25) at the Connecticut State Legislative Office Building was full of energy, connection, and celebration.

Now in its 11th year, this event continues to shine a light on the power and impact of women-owned businesses in our state. I was so glad to be there alongside amazing women like Rachel Galligan of Cates Consulting and Barbara DeLoureiro of Vizionara who are true leaders in their fields.
We’re lucky here in Connecticut. Our state leadership shows up understands that when women-owned businesses thrive, our whole community benefits. Did you know that 66 cents of every dollar spent at a woman-owned business stays local? That’s real impact.
A big shoutout to the Women’s Business Development Council (#WBDC) led by the ever-inspiring Fran Pastore. They’re truly one of the best in the country, delivering training, funding, and support that helps women grow real, sustainable businesses. The proof is in the data and Connecticut is doubling down on support for women-owned businesses.
Congrats to the women business leaders who pitched during the session—your stories were powerful, each making an impact in revenue and sustainable growth. Huge kudos to the 4 out of 7 who received grants sponsored by Libertas!
And finally, a saying that captured the moment: Senator Patricia Billie Miller said it well...
“When one woman succeeds, she paves the way for others.”
It’s a common expression, but it perfectly sums up the spirit of the day, and of this community. We rise together.
