Professional Experience
I bring more than two decades of experience in mental health and healthcare, with the past decade focused increasingly on health innovation, product research, strategy, and human-centered design. My work spans clinical practice, digital health, behavioral health, emerging technologies, and federal health innovation, giving me a unique ability to translate complex clinical and patient needs into actionable product concepts and strategies. At Aptive Resources/Blue Spark, I progressed from health and mental-health research and writing into health innovation and product strategy, conducting landscape analyses, identifying emerging technology opportunities, developing recommendations, supporting proposals, and contributing to concepts involving AI, wearables, VR, digital biomarkers, telehealth, and behavioral health solutions for organizations including the VA, SAMHSA, NASA, and ARPA-H. As co-founder and CEO of Brain hAPPy, I led the development of digital mental-health products from concept through prototype and app development, including a CBT- and mindfulness-based intervention platform. More recently, through Brain R3, I have led development of NeuroHZ5, an early-stage AI-enabled neurotechnology concept integrating EEG, digital biomarkers, adaptive neuromodulation, and behavioral interventions. Across these roles, my strength is connecting clinical insight, user needs, technology, research, and product strategy to envision and develop innovative solutions to complex healthcare problems.
Community Experience
My community experience is rooted in more than two decades of working directly with individuals, families, and communities across mental health, healthcare, and public-sector settings. My work has included supporting children, adults, veterans, and families through community-based behavioral health services, telehealth, primary care, and holistic health environments, with a particular focus on improving access to mental health support and practical, evidence-informed interventions. Through my work with Aptive Resources and Blue Spark, I contributed to public-sector health innovation initiatives involving the VA, SAMHSA, NASA, and other federal stakeholders, addressing issues including suicide prevention, crisis intervention, behavioral health, and access to care. I have also developed technology concepts designed to extend behavioral health resources beyond traditional clinical settings, including CBT-based digital interventions, crisis-support tools, and AI-enabled approaches to personalized care. Across these experiences, I have remained focused on understanding the needs of real people and communities and translating those needs into accessible, human-centered health solutions.
Education
I hold a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Rhode Island and an M.S. in Social Work from the University of Connecticut. I am also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), bringing a strong foundation in human behavior, clinical practice, behavioral health, and interdisciplinary approaches to healthcare and innovation.
