By participating in the Power of the Purse Event, you will be strategically poised to grow your professional connections while doing social good for women.
United Way Women United’s Power of the Purse event helps women and families achieve financial security. As more families struggle to make ends meet due to the complex job market and new sets of challenges, your support matters more than ever. By participating in this year’s event, you are ensuring that people receive job training, financial education, and savings opportunities.
Mentors and Candidates are invited to work the room with your newly honed networking skills while supporting Women United | United Way!
Keynote Speaker Rita Moreno is best known for breaking out in West Side Story and also one of the few who have received the Triple Crown of Acting, by winning an Academy, Emmy, and Tony award. Adding a Grammy to that, made her only the 3rd person to ever become an EGOT. A force on stage, and on screens both large and small, she has also earned the Presidential Medal of Freedom and various lifetime achievement awards. She became a social activist, supporting women and Latine rights. She touts her first major experience being a part of Dr. Martin Luther King's March on Washington as important in propelling her to conscious activism.

Untapped Potential supports our Candidates with Mentor Connections that know where you are coming from and will supportively introduce you during the Event. The tremendous proactive women of United Way Women United will step UP. Untapped Potential has a limited number of tickets for Mentors! Mentors can also 'Support a Candidate' so a non-working stay-at-home Mom (well that's an oxymoron) seeking to return to PAID work gets the nudge she needs to attend this valuable event.
Because this event is highly attended by successful career women wanting to Lift Women UP, you'll want to have your elevator pitch ready. Candidates and Mentors will be situated at industry-sponsored tables throughout the Venue.
